Excursion to Dion-Olympus-Vergin Dion is the ancient city where the sacrificial altar of Zeus was located. In Greek mythology, Mount Olympus is known to all as the residence of the twelve major Olympic gods, interesting places here are numerous. In 1977, Vergin became widely known: archaeological excavations made it possible to discover the royal tomb of Philip II – the father of Alexander the Great.
